Frequently Asked Questions

Thank you for your interest in permanent makeup and my business! Here are some of my most commonly asked questions. Please read the page in its entirety before booking your appointment to ensure you are a good candidate. I am so looking forward to meeting you at your appointment and creating your dram brows!

What is microblading?

This is a process of infusing pigment into the skin to simulate the appearance of natural hair. It is considered a tattoo and permanent makeup. Although it is considered permanent makeup, it does fade over time. Touch ups are recommended every 6 months to 1 year (depending on your skin type and aftercare).

Microblading is meant to be natural enhancement and to create the appearance of full, beautiful brows. It looks most natural on client with already semi full brow hairs and are wanting to perfect their shape. The more hair you have the more natural it will appear.

Microblading heals best on young, healthy skin that is normal-dry.

Oily skin and aging/thin skin is not recommended for just microblading. Results will not heal as well or look as natural. if you have aging skin, oily skin or thin to no natural eyebrow hairs, you are better suited for a combination/ hybrid brow.

What is combination brow?

This is the process of infusing pigment into the skin to simulate the appearance of filled in brows. When we micro blade we only hair strokes to the brows to look fuller and natural. If you prefer a more “filled in look” this is for you! A combination brow combines mircroblading strokes with shading. Giving the brows more density and soft effect. This is a beautiful look for all skin types (including oily and aging skin). This heals soft and beautiful.

How Long Will It Last?

Cosmetic tattooing is designed to fade over time. Factors such as skin type, lifestyles, age, metabolism and medications will affect the longevity of their tattoo. The sun and some kinds of lighting (tanning beds) can affect the rate at which these pigments are broken down. To take care of your brows follow the aftercare instructions and touch up your brows every 12-18 months (as needed). Touch ups are normal and expected for permanent cosmetics.

*Please note that final results vary and CANNOT be guaranteed due to the nature of skin as it heals and lifestyle choices. A follow up appointment is recommended at 6 weeks. Where we can assess your pigment retention and make any changes necessary.

What Factors Will Affect My Permanent Cosmetics?

Oily skin: Increased oil production can cause hair strokes to blur and heal lighter and powdery.

Smoking: Smokers may notice that their Semi-Permanent Cosmetics will fade faster.

Anemia and Iron Deficiency: Your body will absorb iron based pigments more quickly.

Age and Metabolism: The faster your metabolism the faster the pigment will fade.

Excessive bleeding: Excessive bleeding during your procedure will greatly affect how your body retains pigment. While this is not entirely in our control. It is important that you follow the before care instructions to help minimize bleeding. this includes avoiding blood thinning medications (advise your doctor first!) alcohol and caffeine 24hrs before your procedure.
